The supernatural thriller “Shaitaan” has been making waves at the box office, with its 16-day collection reaching an impressive ₹116.70 crore. Directed by Vikas Bahl, the film stars Ajay Devgn, Janki Bodiwala, and Jyotika in pivotal roles, captivating audiences with its gripping storyline and stellar performances.
According to a Sacnilk report, “Shaitaan” earned ₹4.50 crore on its 16th day, maintaining its momentum and solidifying its position as a blockbuster. The film, which revolves around a family entangled in the dark world of black magic, has garnered acclaim for R Madhavan’s portrayal of the antagonist, Vanraaj Kashyap.
Released on March 8, “Shaitaan” is a remake of the 2023 hit Gujarati film “Vash” and has been jointly produced by Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak. Its success at the box office is evident from its consistent performance, as highlighted by Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh.
Taran Adarsh took to X (formerly Twitter) to share the film’s second-week box office numbers, noting that “Shaitaan” continues to excel despite new releases. He praised its solid performance in Week 2, labeling it a “SUPER HIT” with a total collection of ₹117.68 crore.
While the film has enjoyed commercial success, critical opinions have been varied. Film critic Saibal Chatterjee gave “Shaitaan” a rating of 1.5 out of 5 stars, highlighting its target audience of Ajay Devgn’s fan base and its blend of action and supernatural elements. Chatterjee’s review emphasized the film’s intense narrative but also noted its occasional lapses into exaggerated storytelling.
