Azaad Box Office Collection Day 2: Ajay Devgn’s Film Earns ₹3 Crore So Far, Struggles at the Box Office

Ajay Devgn’s latest film Azaad, which marks the debut of newcomers Rasha Thadani and Aaman Devgan, has had a lukewarm reception at the Indian box office. Despite the star power of Devgn and the fresh faces of Rasha, daughter of actress Raveena Tandon, and Aaman, nephew of Ajay Devgn, the film has struggled to make a significant impact.

According to Sacnilk.com, Azaad earned ₹1.5 crore on both its opening day and second day, bringing its total earnings to ₹3 crore so far. The film, directed by Abhishek Kapoor, had an overall occupancy of just 8.90% on its second day. Despite its underwhelming performance, Azaad has become the biggest opener for newcomer films after the pandemic, showing that there is still some interest in new talent.

In the film, Rasha plays a pivotal role, along with Aaman, as the story delves into the emotional bond between a young stable boy and his horse. The film also stars Ajay Devgn, Diana Penty, Mohit Malik, and Piyush Mishra. Azaad focuses on themes of love, loyalty, and courage, making it a heartfelt journey for audiences.

However, the film’s reviews have been mixed, with Hindustan Times pointing out that while some sequences involving Azaad were impressive, the overall acting from the debutants left room for improvement. Rasha, 19, has good screen presence but needs to hone her emotional range, while Aaman is noted for his action and dance skills, though his acting requires some work. Ajay Devgn’s role, though, has drawn comparisons to his role in RRR, which the film’s critics felt was similar in style.

The film’s production, under RSVP Movies, has not yet lived up to expectations at the box office, but there remains hope for a stronger performance in the coming days as word-of-mouth spreads.

Rasha recently shared insights into her career journey, revealing that her passion for acting began in her childhood, and that her mother, Raveena, had always known she would pursue this path. She reflected on how she would experiment with expressions and movements in front of the mirror and how she was introduced to Kathak and Indian classical dance at an early age.

While Azaad continues to fight for a solid foothold at the box office, Rasha’s journey into the film industry is just beginning, and her future prospects remain optimistic.
