Actor Akshay Kumar has delighted fans by announcing the start of his upcoming horror-comedy, Bhooth Bangla, directed by his frequent collaborator, Priyadarshan. The film is set to release in theaters on April 2, 2026.
Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday, Akshay shared an intriguing poster that has already generated buzz. The actor is seen sitting atop a pillar, holding a lantern, with a spooky castle in the background. Clad in a white shirt, dhoti, a blue half jacket, and a red tie, Akshay’s quirky look has piqued interest among fans.
Expressing his excitement, Akshay wrote, “Beyond excited to be on set with my favourite @priyadarshandir as we begin the shoot of our horror comedy #BhoothBangla today. Yeh darr aur hasi ka double dose aapke liye ready hoga 2nd April, 2026 ko! Tab tak ke liye aapke best wishes chahiye.” (“The double dose of fear and laughter will be ready for you on April 2, 2026. Need your best wishes till then.”)
This project marks the reunion of Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan after 14 years. The duo last worked together on the 2010 political satire Khatta Meetha. Known for delivering memorable comedies like Hera Pheri, Garam Masala, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, and Bhagam Bhag, their collaboration has always been a treat for audiences.
Fans are eagerly awaiting what is being promised as a “double dose of fear and laughter.” With Priyadarshan’s expertise in creating comedic narratives and Akshay’s impeccable comic timing, Bhooth Bangla is expected to bring a unique blend of horror and humor to the big screen.
