Renowned actor Akshay Kumar continues to demonstrate his commitment to philanthropy with a generous donation of ₹1.21 crore to the Haji Ali Dargah in Mumbai. This contribution is part of Kumar’s ongoing efforts to support various causes, transcending religious and communal boundaries.
On Thursday morning, Akshay Kumar, accompanied by director Mudassar Aziz, visited the Haji Ali Dargah and presented the substantial donation for its renovation. This act of charity follows his previous philanthropic gesture of contributing ₹3 crore towards the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.
The actor’s dedication to giving back to society extends beyond financial contributions. Recently, Kumar hosted a langar outside his residence, distributing food to those in need. The official Instagram account of the Haji Ali Dargah trust shared a video of Kumar’s visit and expressed gratitude for his generous donation. The Managing Trustee of the Dargah also offered prayers for Kumar’s late parents, Aruna Bhatia and Hari Om Bhatia.
Kumar’s charitable activities are well-documented. During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, he donated ₹1 crore to cricketer-MP Gautam Gambhir’s foundation and made a significant contribution of ₹25 crore to the PM Cares Fund. Recently, Kumar chose to defer his own payment to help clear dues for other crew members involved in his film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, amidst scrutiny faced by producer Vashu Bhagnani for non-payment issues.
