In a significant development, Aman Preet Singh, the brother of popular Bollywood actress Rakul Preet Singh, has been apprehended by Telangana law enforcement agencies for his alleged involvement in a cocaine consumption case. The arrest took place following a joint operation conducted by the Telangana Anti Narcotics Bureau, Cyberabad police’s Special Operations Team (SOT), and Rajendranagar police.
Authorities seized a substantial quantity of narcotics during the raid, including 199 grams of cocaine valued at ₹35 lakh. Alongside the drugs, law enforcement recovered two passports, two motorcycles, 10 mobile phones, and other incriminating evidence from a residence in Hydershakotla, Narsingi.
According to Cyberabad Commissioner of Police Avinash Mohanty, Aman Preet Singh was identified as one of the customers involved in the illicit drug trade. Alongside Aman, four others—identified as Aniketh, Prasad, Madhu, and Nikhil—were also arrested in connection with the case. All individuals tested positive for cocaine following urine sample analysis.
In response to the arrests, the Telangana Anti Narcotics Bureau issued a stern advisory urging youth and parents to remain vigilant against the dangers of drug abuse. They emphasized the importance of parental oversight and encouraged timely intervention by law enforcement to prevent drug-related activities among young people.
This incident marks another brush with controversy for the Singh family, as Rakul Preet Singh herself was previously summoned by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with a separate drug trafficking and consumption investigation. The actress, aged 33, had provided statements to the probe agency in 2021 and 2022 regarding the matter.
