After nearly a decade-long hiatus, Imran Khan, known for his roles in films like “Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na” and “Delhi Belly,” is all set to make a grand return to Bollywood. According to a recent report by Peeping Moon, Imran will star in a comedy film titled “Happy Patel,” which will be produced by his uncle Aamir Khan’s production house.
The film, described as a laugh-riot set in a familiar yet uniquely fresh world, has already commenced shooting in Goa. Imran will play the titular character, Happy Patel, in what promises to be a quirky and entertaining venture. The project also marks the directorial debut of comedian-actor Vir Das, who previously shared the screen with Imran in the acclaimed film “Delhi Belly” back in 2011.
Imran Khan’s decision to return to acting follows a period of introspection and personal growth. In an interview with Vogue India, he candidly spoke about his hiatus, citing a moment of feeling broken inside in 2016. This prompted him to prioritize his well-being, especially after becoming a father to his daughter Imara. Imran emphasized the importance of being the best version of himself for his family, leading him to focus on self-improvement before resuming his career.
Fans of Imran Khan’s work can anticipate his return to the silver screen, where he has delivered memorable performances in films like “Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na,” “Luck,” “Mere Brother Ki Dulhan,” and “Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu.” His last on-screen appearance was in “Katti Batti” alongside Kangana Ranaut in 2015, followed by his directorial venture, the short film “Mission Mars: Keep Walking India,” released three years later.
