Vikas Bahl’s horror thriller “Shaitaan” has been making waves at the box office since its release on March 8. The film, which is a Hindi remake of the 2023 Gujarati movie “Vash,” has now surpassed the ₹114 crore mark in its box office collection.
After a successful first week, “Shaitaan” continues to draw audiences despite a slight dip in ticket sales. On its 14th day, the film collected ₹2.50 crore domestically, bringing its total collection to ₹114.30 crore. This impressive performance underscores the film’s popularity and appeal among viewers.
“Shaitaan” boasts a star-studded cast including Ajay Devgn, Madhavan, Jyotika, Janki Bodiwala, and Anngad Raaj in pivotal roles. Notably, the film marks the on-screen collaboration of Madhavan and Jyotika after more than two decades since their last project together in the 2001 Tamil film “Dumm Dumm Dumm.”
Expressing her excitement about reuniting with Madhavan on screen, Jyotika shared, “Working with him after all these years made me realize how much the two of us have grown as actors.” She also mentioned the shift from playing romantic leads to character-driven roles, highlighting their evolution in the industry.
Adding to the film’s buzz, Jyotika recently shared a heartfelt thank you note for the makers of “Shaitaan,” accompanied by behind-the-scenes footage from the sets. The reel featured glimpses of Ajay Devgn, R Madhavan, and even south superstar Suriya, who made a special appearance to support the film.
Despite mixed reviews from critics, with some citing the film’s familiar storyline and predictable elements, “Shaitaan” continues to draw audiences with its captivating performances and engaging narrative. The film has been jointly produced by Ajay Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak.
