‘Soothravakyam’ Team Backs ICC Investigation into Vincy Aloshious’ Allegations

Team ‘Soothravakyam’ Supports ICC Inquiry Into Actor Vincy Aloshious' Allegations of Misconduct

The team behind the upcoming Malayalam film Soothravakyam, which stars Vincy Aloshious and Shine Tom Chacko, has expressed full support for the ongoing inquiry into the allegations made by Aloshious regarding alleged misconduct on set. The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) and the Film Chamber are currently investigating the matter, and the team has called for fairness and transparency in the process.

At a press conference held on Saturday, producer Srikanth Kandragula made a public statement confirming his support for the ICC’s investigation. He emphasized the importance of uncovering the truth behind the allegations and stressed that the inquiry would help bring clarity to the situation. “Not as a producer, but as someone who deeply cares for Malayalam cinema, I want fairness and transparency. The committee must uncover facts that may not be known to the crew,” Kandragula said.

The allegations against Shine Tom Chacko, who has since been arrested in a separate drug-related case, revolve around inappropriate behavior towards Vincy Aloshious, allegedly under the influence of drugs. Kandragula clarified that, to the best of his knowledge, the set of Soothravakyam was free of drugs. He said that he only learned of the allegations through the media the day after the incident was reported and immediately directed the ICC to take up the issue.

The producer also expressed his frustration over the negativity surrounding the film due to the controversy, which, he believes, has overshadowed the hard work and dedication of over 300 artists involved in the production. “I beg you—don’t kill my movie for something I didn’t know or do,” he pleaded. He also clarified that he had not been involved in any promotional activities for the film.

While responding to accusations on social media that the controversy might have been used as a marketing strategy, Kandragula firmly rejected this notion. “No one would use such a sensitive topic as a marketing strategy,” he asserted.

In her complaint to the Film Chamber, actor Vincy Aloshious claimed that Shine Tom Chacko behaved inappropriately towards her on set. Although she also reported the incident to the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists, she has not filed a police complaint.

Kandragula stated that the meeting scheduled for April 21 would not only focus on Aloshious’ complaint but would also be open to anyone else from the set who may have experienced similar issues. “This is not about just one or two individuals. We want to hear from anyone who experienced any kind of misconduct on the set,” he said. He reiterated his commitment to ensuring that justice prevails, and that every voice is heard.

Director Eugien Jos Chirammel and scriptwriter Rejin S Babu were also present at the press conference, reiterating their support for the investigation.

Although the shooting of Soothravakyam is complete, the film’s release date remains undecided. The team is hopeful that the ongoing inquiry will clear the air and allow them to focus on the film’s future release.
