Priyanka Chopra is set to join forces with her Baywatch co-star Zac Efron for a new comedy film directed by Nicholas Stoller, according to reports from The Hollywood Reporter. The untitled project is being produced under a collaboration between Amazon MGM Studios, marking an exciting return to the comedy genre for the Bollywood actress.
Chopra, known for her work in films like Don and the hit action series Citadel, took to her Instagram story to share the news with her fans, posting a snapshot of the report. The film will also star actor Michael Peña, who is best known for his roles in Cesar Chavez and Ant-Man.
The ensemble cast of the film will include Regina Hall, Jimmy Tatro, and Billy Eichner, with the script being penned by Stoller himself. This reunion comes on the heels of Stoller’s success with You’re Cordially Invited, a recent feature starring Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon.
The storyline of the film, previously titled Judgment Day, revolves around a young convict, played by Zac Efron, who is released from prison and takes a courtroom hostage. Efron’s character, believing that a ruling made by a judge (played by Will Ferrell) ruined his life, seeks revenge in an unscripted TV courtroom. The details surrounding the movie remain under wraps, adding an element of intrigue to the project.
Apart from this film, Priyanka Chopra has several upcoming projects in the pipeline. She is set to star in The Bluff, an Amazon MGM title directed by Frank E. Flowers, as well as Heads of State, an action-packed film with WWE wrestler-turned-actor John Cena.
Chopra’s fans are eagerly awaiting the second season of Citadel, in which she stars alongside Richard Madden. However, reports have surfaced that the release of the show’s second season has been postponed until spring 2026, due to dissatisfaction with the current version. Additionally, all spinoff series related to Citadel are now reportedly on hold.
In the meantime, Chopra is also rumored to be involved in SS Rajamouli’s new untitled film, which will star Mahesh Babu in the lead role. With such an exciting lineup of projects, Priyanka Chopra continues to remain a dominant force in both Hollywood and Bollywood.
