The action-packed film Daaku Maharaaj, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna and Bobby Deol, witnessed a dip in its box office collections on Day 2 of its release, following a strong opening. Despite the decline on Monday, the movie has accumulated nearly ₹40 crore within two days of its theatrical release, signaling a positive performance overall despite mixed reviews.
According to early estimates from Sacnilk.com, Daaku Maharaaj earned ₹13.50 crore on its second day, bringing its total collections to ₹38.85 crore. On its opening day, the film had raked in ₹25.35 crore, giving it a solid start. The film had an overall occupancy of 39.76% in Telugu markets on Monday.
Daaku Maharaaj opened with much fanfare, setting a new benchmark for Balakrishna’s box office success. Naga Vamsi’s Sithara Entertainments, the production house behind the film, celebrated the movie’s opening by announcing that it grossed ₹56 crore worldwide on Day 1. They shared their excitement on social media, writing, “#DaakuMaharaaj sets the box office on fire and owns SANKRANTHI with Thunderous BLOCKBUSTER. ₹56 Crores+ Worldwide Gross on DAY 1. #BlockbusterHuntingDaakuMaharaaj – THE BIGGEST OPENING for #NBK garu.”
In celebration of the film’s success, Balakrishna was seen enjoying a success party with co-stars Urvashi Rautela, Vishwak Sen, Siddhu Jonnalagadda, and others. A video shared by Vishwak Sen shows Balakrishna affectionately kissing him and Siddhu on the cheek, calling their collective success “everyone’s success.” Urvashi Rautela also posted a video of herself dancing to the film’s popular and controversial song, “Dabidi Dibidi.”
Daaku Maharaaj is an action-packed drama where Nandamuri Balakrishna plays a dacoit known as ‘Daaku Maharaaj.’ The film marks Bobby Deol’s debut in the Telugu film industry, where he plays the villain, adding to the excitement for fans of both actors. Directed by Bobby Kolli, the film also features Urvashi Rautela, Pragya Jaiswal, Shraddha Srinath, and Chandhini Chowdary in key roles. The music for the film is composed by S. Thaman.
The film’s production team includes Suryadevara Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya, and it was released in theaters on January 12. Despite the mixed reviews, the movie’s strong opening performance and overall earnings in the first two days suggest a promising box office run ahead.
As Daaku Maharaaj continues to entertain audiences across the nation, all eyes will be on its performance in the coming weeks as it aims to further solidify its place in the Sankranti festival season box office race.
