The Rule continues to dominate the box office, proving its unrelenting success even a month after its release. Since its nationwide debut on December 5, the film has consistently broken records, and the latest update shows it nearing the ₹1200 crore milestone.
The action-packed sequel, directed by Sukumar, had a record-breaking opening, grossing ₹725.8 crore in its first weekend alone. The momentum continued into the second week, with the film amassing ₹264.8 crore. By the third week, the collection reached ₹129.5 crore, and it brought in ₹69.65 crore during the fourth week.
On its 31st day at the box office, Pushpa 2: The Rule earned ₹3.45 crore by 9 PM, with expectations for a rise in collections due to the weekend rush. With the latest collections standing at ₹1197.36 crore, the film is poised to cross the ₹1200 crore mark soon.
Despite stiff competition from new releases during the holiday season, including Varun Dhawan’s Baby John, Unni Mukundan’s Marco, and Mohanlal’s Barroz 3D, Pushpa 2 has remained a top choice for audiences, demonstrating its widespread appeal.
However, the film has also been in the news for a tragic incident during its premiere. On December 4, a stampede broke out at a Hyderabad theatre, resulting in the death of a 35-year-old woman named Revathi and injury to her son. The incident led to Allu Arjun’s brief arrest on December 13, but he was granted interim bail on December 14. His bail period will end on January 10, and he was granted regular bail by the Nampally Court on January 5.
In Pushpa 2: The Rule, Allu Arjun reprises his role as Pushpa Raj, with Rashmika Mandanna playing his wife Srivalli, and Fahadh Faasil portraying the antagonist, SP Bhanwar Singh Shekawat. Other key cast members include Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari, Jagapathi Babu, Prakash Raj, Sunil, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Rao Ramesh, Dhananjaya, and Ajay. Fans are eagerly awaiting the next installment, Pushpa 3: The Rampage, which has already been announced.
