After a much-publicized fallout in 2021, Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan have finally put their differences aside. The two will now collaborate on a new romantic comedy titled Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, signaling the end of their feud. Kartik Aaryan, who was previously dropped from Johar’s Dostana 2, confirmed the project in an announcement video on his social media platform X (formerly Twitter).
In the video, Kartik shared a humorous rant about his previous breakups, playfully hinting that his fourth relationship will be different. He made a promise to his mother, saying, “Mummy kasam khayi hain maine,” signaling his commitment to making this relationship last.
The upcoming film, directed by Sameer Vidwans, marks the first collaboration between Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Kartik Aaryan. Sameer Vidwans and Kartik previously worked together on Satyaprem Ki Katha, and the romantic comedy is expected to be another collaboration of note. While the female lead has not yet been announced, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri is slated for release in Christmas 2026.
This project comes after years of speculation and tension following the suspension of Dostana 2‘s filming due to the pandemic. Reports suggested a fallout between the actor and filmmaker, leading to Kartik’s exit from the project. However, the new film signals a fresh start for both, as they finally come together for what promises to be an exciting venture.
Kartik Aaryan’s recent success in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which is set to release on Netflix on December 27, further cements his place in Bollywood. The third installment of the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise sees him reunite with Vidya Balan and star alongside Madhuri Dixit and Triptii Dimri.
