Bollywood’s beloved couple Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone held a private meet-and-greet for their three-month-old daughter, Dua, with Mumbai paparazzi, making a special request to protect her privacy.
In a rare and heartfelt gesture, the couple invited 15-20 selected paparazzi to a private event at the clubhouse of their Prabhadevi society on Monday evening. This marked the first time that the actors introduced their daughter Dua to the media, but with one condition — her pictures would not be clicked or published until the couple feels it is the right time.
A Heartwarming Interaction
Popular paparazzo Pallav Paliwal, who attended the event, shared insights into the intimate gathering. “When we arrived, Deepika and Ranveer welcomed us warmly. Deepika later brought baby Dua out in her arms. The whole time, Dua clung to her mother. She was dressed in a simple white dress,” Paliwal recalled.
The actors requested the paparazzi to keep noise to a minimum as Dua had just woken up from a nap. After a short interaction, Deepika took her daughter back inside.
“They also organized lunch for us, complete with a catering service. Ranveer made sure everything was perfect, even instructing the caterers to heat the Sindhi sweets properly before serving. They also sent us sweets for our families,” Paliwal added.
Interestingly, no cameras or mobile phones were allowed at the event. Instead, Ranveer and Deepika took pictures with the paparazzi using their personal phones.
A Growing Trend of Celebrity Privacy
This thoughtful approach to privacy is part of a growing trend among celebrity parents. In 2022, actors Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt held a high tea session with paparazzi after the birth of their daughter Raha, requesting them not to click or publish Raha’s pictures. However, unlike Deepika and Ranveer, Ranbir and Alia only showed pictures of Raha instead of bringing her in person. Raha made her public debut nearly two years later, during the Kapoor family’s Christmas lunch in 2024.
About Dua Padukone Singh
Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone welcomed Dua on September 8, 2024, announcing her arrival through social media. Following Dua’s birth, Deepika traveled to Bengaluru to be with her parents, while Ranveer made several solo public appearances. Deepika returned to Mumbai with Dua earlier this month.
The couple’s gesture reflects their commitment to balancing their stardom with the need for privacy, ensuring Dua’s early moments are cherished without the glare of public attention.
