Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in a warm and lighthearted conversation with Bollywood’s Kapoor family on Wednesday, commemorating the 100th birth anniversary of legendary actor-filmmaker Raj Kapoor. Among the attendees was actress Alia Bhatt, who posed a unique question to the PM about his music preferences, sparking laughter and camaraderie.
During the meeting, Alia Bhatt mentioned a clip she had seen during PM Modi’s visit to Africa. “I saw a clip where you were standing with a jawan and you were singing my song at that time,” she remarked, evoking smiles from the room. Highlighting the universal appeal of music, Alia added, “Music is such a thing where people indulge in it even though they may not understand the words being sung. People instantly connect with the feelings and sentiments in Indian songs.”
Seizing the moment, Alia asked the PM, “Are you able to listen to music?” PM Modi replied, “I’m able to listen because I like it. Whenever I get the chance, I do listen to songs.”
