Malaika Arora and her son, Arhaan Khan, have opened their new restaurant, Scarlett House, in Bandra’s Pali Village. The duo has transformed a charming 90-year-old Indo-Portuguese bungalow into a cozy eatery that blends old-world charm with rustic elegance.
The restaurant’s interior design exudes a vintage aesthetic, offering a delightful mix of vibrant wallpapers, mismatched furniture, and vintage dinnerware on display. Floral arrangements, plants, and wooden beams enhance the warm and inviting ambiance, while stunning chandeliers and arched entryways add character.
According to Nyishi Parekh, the principal architect, many of the rugs and decorative lights used in the space were sourced from the weekend markets of Paris, adding a touch of international flair. The handmade ceramic crockery on display at Scarlett House reflects an era of craftsmanship, with hand-painted patterns reinforcing the vintage vibe.
Malaika Arora envisioned Scarlett House as a place of “quiet and warm luxury” where guests would feel comfortable staying for hours. She shared that the Portuguese bungalow symbolizes a blend of old-fashioned exterior with a wealth of stories and values within—much like the concept behind Scarlett House.
On the opening night, Malaika and Arhaan were spotted together enjoying a dinner date at their new venture. The mother-son duo coordinated their outfits, both wearing black-and-white blazers with black pants and white shirts for the special occasion.
Scarlett House promises to be a unique dining experience, offering both delectable food and an immersive vintage atmosphere for its guests.
