Ajay Devgn’s cop drama continues to dominate at the domestic box office, despite competition from other releases.
Rohit Shetty’s much-awaited action-packed film Singham Again, starring Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor in the lead, has wrapped up its opening week on a high note. Released on November 1 to coincide with the Diwali festivities, the film has earned ₹173 crore in India by the end of its seventh day, making a strong statement at the box office.
According to Sacnilk, the film grossed ₹8.75 crore on Thursday, bringing its total domestic collection to ₹173 crore after seven days. While Thursday’s earnings marked the lowest day-wise collection of the week, it still helped Singham Again cross the ₹173 crore milestone, following a stronger ₹10.5 crore earnings on Wednesday.
Singham Again continues to perform well, despite facing stiff competition from Anees Bazmee’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which has also been gaining traction at the box office. The horror comedy, though trailing Singham Again by a few crores, is clearly making an impact, which is believed to have slightly affected the cop drama’s earnings.
However, with no major releases expected this week, Singham Again is poised to retain its box office momentum. The film is expected to continue its success story and could maintain a strong hold at the domestic box office in the weeks to come.
Rohit Shetty’s Fastest ₹100 Crore Hit
Rohit Shetty, who is known for his high-octane action-packed blockbusters, expressed his gratitude to the audience for making Singham Again his fastest ₹100 crore-earning film. He took to social media to thank viewers for their overwhelming love and support, writing, “SINGHAM AGAIN my 10th and fastest 100 cr film. For the past 16 films one thing that has remained constant is your love, thank you for all the support and love, humbled.”
The success of Singham Again marks a milestone for Shetty, as it becomes his 10th film to enter the ₹100 crore club. Notably, the director’s previous works such as Golmaal 3 (2010), Singham (2011), Chennai Express (2013), Dilwale (2015), and Sooryavanshi (2021), among others, have already made their mark in this exclusive club.
As per initial reports, Singham Again earned ₹125 crore in its first weekend alone, solidifying its position as one of the biggest blockbusters of the year.
The Star-Studded Cast
Singham Again is the third installment in Rohit Shetty’s Singham franchise and is part of his larger ambitious cop universe, which also includes the characters played by Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh in Sooryavanshi and Simmba, respectively. The film features a star-studded ensemble cast including Ajay Devgn, Kareena Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff, and Arjun Kapoor.
