The ‘Modi and US’ supershow in New York witnessed spectacular performances from renowned artists Devi Sri Prasad, Hanumankind, and Aditya Gadhvi, captivating an audience of over 13,500 people at Nassau Coliseum, Long Island. The event, held on Sunday, marked the first time these artists performed together on stage, making the evening a memorable one for attendees.

Aditya Gadhvi mesmerized the crowd with his hit track Khalasi, while popular hip-hop artist Hanumankind delivered an electrifying performance, thrilling the audience. Devi Sri Prasad also entertained with his energetic act. The cultural performances set the tone for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s much-anticipated address to the Indian diaspora.

PM Modi’s Address to the Diaspora

Prime Minister Modi addressed the enthusiastic crowd, consisting of over 15,000 members of the Indian diaspora from 42 states across the US. His speech highlighted India’s global partnerships and the strengthening relationship between India and the United States.

Modi’s arrival at the Nassau Coliseum was met with cheers and cultural showcases. Traditional performances, including ‘Yakshagana’, a folk dance from Karnataka and parts of Kerala, and the Tamil musical instrument ‘Parai’, enthralled the audience. The cultural diversity of India was on full display, adding a unique flavor to the event.

Mallakhamb Performance and Cultural Promotion

Earlier in the day, outside Nassau Coliseum, a group performed Mallakhamb, a traditional acrobatic sport originating from Maharashtra. Jaydev Anata from the Mallakhamb Federation US emphasized that the goal is to promote the sport globally and eventually have it included in the Olympics.

“We are using every opportunity to present this to the public,” Anata said, explaining the ongoing efforts to elevate Mallakhamb as a gymnastic and acrobatic sport on the international stage.

PM Modi’s US Visit

Prime Minister Modi shared his excitement on social media platform X, posting pictures with members of the Indian diaspora. “After programmes in Delaware, landed in New York. Eager to be among the diaspora at the community programme in the city and to take part in other programmes,” he wrote.
