“Tigmanshu Dhulia Reflects on Shah Rukh Khan’s Humility During Dil Se and Zero Shoot”

Actor-director Tigmanshu Dhulia recently reflected on his experiences working with Shah Rukh Khan during the filming of the iconic movie Dil Se (1998). In an interview with Mashable India, Dhulia shared heartfelt memories that highlight SRK’s humility, even as he was already a major star.

Recalling the shoot in Ladakh, Dhulia noted the absence of vanity vans, leading Khan to take his lunch breaks on the bus floor. “He is such a humble person,” Dhulia remarked. “When we were shooting in Ladakh, SRK would sleep on the bus floor during lunch hours.” He described how SRK would catch a quick nap for about 30 minutes while the crew moved in and out of the bus, grabbing their belongings without disturbing the superstar.

Dhulia praised Khan’s accommodating nature, explaining, “He never objected to anyone coming in and out. He could have easily insisted on privacy, but he never did.”

In addition to his role as a dialogue writer for Dil Se, Dhulia also had a cameo in the film, which starred Manisha Koirala and marked Preity Zinta’s Bollywood debut. The collaboration between Dhulia and Khan continued in Zero (2018), a film produced by Khan’s own production house.

Reflecting on their time together during Zero, Dhulia noted Khan’s respectful demeanor. “He would pick chairs for everyone and ask them if they had lunch. Yeh sanskar hain uske (These are his values),” he stated, emphasizing that Khan’s manners and humility contribute significantly to his greatness. In Zero, Dhulia played the role of Khan’s father, alongside a talented cast that included Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma.

Tigmanshu Dhulia’s anecdotes not only celebrate the legacy of Dil Se but also showcase the down-to-earth personality of one of Bollywood’s biggest stars, reminding fans of the importance of humility in success.
