Vedang Raina, the rising star of Bollywood, is quickly adjusting to the spotlight. Known for his debut in The Archies (2023), Raina has now taken a step further with his upcoming thriller Jigra, where he shares screen space with none other than Alia Bhatt. Reflecting on his whirlwind journey in the film industry, the actor admits he’s still getting used to his newfound fame.
In an exclusive interview with Hindustan Times, Raina opened up about his career, sharing his excitement over being part of Jigra, which is set to release in October this year. “After my debut, I went on to do Jigra with Alia. I can talk about it now, which feels surreal. It has been an insane journey from my very first day on set,” Raina expressed, describing the experience as a “dream come true.”
Working with the likes of Alia Bhatt and director Vasan Bala has been a huge honor for Raina. He added, “It has been 0 to 1000 to 2000. So I’m very excited and looking forward to the things that are set to happen in the future.”
Adjusting to Fame
Despite his fast rise in the industry, Raina is still coming to terms with being in the limelight. “For me, there have been a lot of takeaways because most of these things have been new for me. Just the fact that I’m in the limelight is new to me,” he said. He shared that being recognized on the street is something he never expected and is still adjusting to the idea of fame.
Raina emphasized the importance of staying true to oneself, despite the challenges that come with fame. “What I realized, and has been my number one takeaway, is that always be yourself. There will be a lot of changes around you given the nature of the industry, but you have to maintain your own identity,” he noted.
New Ventures and Personal Passions
Apart from acting, Raina has been named the face of Garnier India and is embracing his role as a Gen Z icon. At a recent event at the Garnier Green Academy in Singapore, he spoke about his commitment to sustainability and “Green Beauty.” “I’m super happy to be part of Garnier India and determined to put the spotlight on sustainable skincare,” Raina shared.
In addition to acting, Raina’s love for music remains strong. He expressed his desire to explore his musical side, saying, “It has always been a dream of mine to create music. If ever I get the time or the opportunity, I would love to take some time out and make some interesting music and put it out there someday.”
