Veteran actor Kamal Haasan has announced that he will not be returning as the host for the upcoming season of Bigg Boss Tamil. In a heartfelt message shared on social media, Haasan expressed his gratitude to fans for their support throughout his tenure on the reality show.
On Tuesday, Kamal Haasan took to X (formerly Twitter) to reveal his decision to step away from hosting duties for the eighth season of Bigg Boss Tamil. The actor cited prior professional commitments as the reason for his departure. Haasan’s announcement marks the end of his seven-year journey with the show, which he has hosted since its inception in 2017.
“With a heavy heart I wish to inform you that I will be taking a small break from our journey that began 7 years ago,” Haasan wrote. “Due to prior cinematic commitments, I am unable to host the upcoming season of Bigg Boss Tamil.” He expressed his deep appreciation for the love and support he has received from viewers over the years, acknowledging their passionate engagement with the show.
In his statement, Haasan reflected on his experience hosting Bigg Boss Tamil, describing it as an enriching association where he shared his insights with the audience. “Personally, being your host has been an enriching association where I have honestly shared my learnings. I will always be grateful for this learning experience,” he said, thanking fans and contestants for their support.
Kamal Haasan has been a prominent figure on Bigg Boss Tamil, bringing his distinctive presence to the reality show. His departure comes as he continues to pursue other cinematic projects. Recently, he appeared in the blockbuster film Kalki 2898 AD and will soon be seen in Indian 2, a sequel to the 1996 hit Indian. The latter is scheduled for release on Netflix in multiple languages from August 9.
