TV actor Dalljiet Kaur has confirmed filing an FIR against her estranged husband, Nikhil Patel, amid ongoing allegations of infidelity. The FIR was lodged in Mumbai, with Kaur expressing her gratitude for the support and efficiency of the local police.
In a detailed Instagram post on Sunday, Dalljiet Kaur recounted her recent experience of lodging the FIR. She praised the Mumbai Police for their prompt and empathetic response, particularly commending Joint Commissioner of Police Anil Paraska, Deputy Commissioner of Police Krishnakant Sir, Senior Inspector Yogendra Pache, and Investigating Officer Sachin Shelke. Kaur highlighted how the police ensured her comfort and safety throughout the process, stating, “I am convinced now that when you are on the right side of the law and are on side of truth, the Indian Police will empower you. I know now that women are safe in our country.”
The FIR, filed on August 2, includes charges of cruelty and criminal breach of trust against Nikhil Patel, a Kenya-based businessman. This legal action follows a series of social media posts by Dalljiet hinting at her husband’s alleged extramarital affair. Nikhil Patel had previously responded with a legal notice, criticizing Dalljiet’s posts and threatening to donate her belongings to charity if they were not collected from his Kenya residence. Patel was recently seen at Mumbai airport with his girlfriend, Safeena Nazar.
The couple’s marital issues began to surface in February 2024 when they unfollowed each other on Instagram and removed their joint posts. They were married in March 2023. In an interview with ETimes in May 2024, Nikhil Patel confirmed the separation and addressed the cheating allegations, stating that Dalljiet’s decision to return to India with their son Jaydon was a key factor in their split.
