In a surprising turn of events, actor Vijay Raaz has been removed from the upcoming film Son of Sardaar 2, starring Ajay Devgn. The decision, according to co-producer Kumar Mangat Pathak, was due to Raaz’s alleged inappropriate behavior and unreasonable demands on set. However, Vijay Raaz claims that the real reason behind his ousting was his failure to greet Ajay Devgn when he arrived on set.
The Allegations from the Producers
Kumar Mangat Pathak, who is co-producing the film with Ajay Devgn, explained that Vijay Raaz’s behavior on set was unacceptable. He stated that Raaz demanded premium accommodations and a vanity van similar to that of the film’s lead, Ajay Devgn. Kumar added that Raaz also overcharged for his spot boys, with one reportedly being paid ₹20,000 per night—an amount far exceeding standard rates.
Pathak also mentioned that despite Raaz’s demands for luxurious accommodations in the UK, he refused to return the advance payment after being dropped from the film. “Even other actors and I stayed in the same category of room as him, which costs ₹45,000 for a night, and in one of the best hotels, it was very sizable,” Pathak said, emphasizing that the treatment Raaz received was more than adequate.
Vijay Raaz’s Side of the Story
Vijay Raaz, in his defense, shared that the situation arose because he didn’t greet Ajay Devgn upon arriving on set. Raaz recounted how he arrived at the shoot location, where several colleagues, including Ravi Kishan and the director, Vijay Kumar Arora, were present. He spotted Ajay Devgn standing at a distance but chose not to approach him as Devgn appeared busy.
Raaz claimed that shortly after, Kumar Mangat Pathak approached him and asked him to leave the film. “I was removed from the film within 30 minutes of reaching the sets, as I didn’t greet Ajay Devgn. These are powerful people, and the chatter of misconduct doesn’t arise at all,” Raaz explained, dismissing allegations of any serious misconduct on his part.
Controversy Surrounding Vijay Raaz’s Spot Boy
Further complicating matters, a report emerged that Vijay Raaz’s spot boy allegedly sexually assaulted a hotel staff member in the UK after drinking. Raaz distanced himself from the incident, stating that he was removed from the film hours before the alleged assault took place and that he had nothing to do with it. He also emphasized that he does not condone such behavior and has since ceased working with the spot boy involved.
