
Ajith Kumar and Trisha Krishnan’s action thriller experiences a steep drop in earnings after a strong opening day.
Ajith Kumar’s latest Tamil film Vidaamuyarchi, directed by Magizh Thirumeni, witnessed a significant dip in box office collections on its second day. The action-packed thriller, which hit theaters on Thursday, had a strong start but struggled to maintain momentum.
Box Office Performance
According to Sacnilk, Vidaamuyarchi collected approximately ₹32.12 crore net in India by the end of day two. The film had a solid opening day, raking in ₹26 crore net, with ₹25.5 crore from the Tamil version and ₹0.5 crore from the Telugu-dubbed release titled Pattudala.
However, the collections took a major hit on day two, earning only ₹6.12 crore net in India. This brings the total domestic earnings to ₹32.12 crore. The film saw an occupancy rate of 21.48% in the morning, which increased to 31.44% in the afternoon and peaked at 37.25% in the evening.
Comparison with Thunivu
Ajith Kumar’s previous film, Thunivu (2023), had a slightly lower opening day collection of ₹24.4 crore net in India. However, Thunivu managed to sustain its earnings better than Vidaamuyarchi, which faced a sharp decline in collections after its debut.

Director Vignesh Shivan shared his appreciation for Vidaamuyarchi, praising its gripping storyline and Ajith Kumar’s performance. In a social media post, he wrote,
