Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri’s latest release, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, has shown a steady rise in box office numbers since its release on October 11. Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, the film had a slow start but gained momentum over the weekend. According to reports by Sacnilk, the film grossed ₹5.5 crore on its opening day and picked up on Saturday, collecting ₹6.9 crore. On the third day, it managed to earn ₹6.25 crore, bringing the total to ₹18.65 crore.
The film, set in the 1990s, follows the story of a married couple who lose an intimate video, leading to chaos and confusion. Alongside Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri, the movie features an ensemble cast including Vijay Raaz, Mallika Sherawat, Mast Ali, Archana Puran Singh, Mukesh Tiwari, Rakesh Bedi, Tiku Talsania, and Ashwini Kalsekar.
Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared insights on Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video‘s box office performance on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). He highlighted the film’s strong reception in mass circuits while noting that the urban centres could have seen better growth, especially given the advantage of the Dussehra holiday. Taran Adarsh posted, “Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video [VVKWWV] remains ahead of its competitor, driven by strong acceptance in mass circuits… Saturday growth could have been stronger [at urban centres mainly], given the advantage of the #Dussehra holiday.”
He added that Sunday’s performance would be crucial for the film’s first-week success. “The Sunday performance will be pivotal in securing a healthy total for the opening weekend,” he noted, sharing the box office figures: “Fri 5.71 cr, Sat 7.06 cr. Total: ₹12.77 cr. #India biz. Nett BOC.”
Ahead of the film’s release, actress Triptii Dimri took to social media, sharing behind-the-scenes images from the shoot. She posted a picture of herself in a striking blue outfit along with dancers in the background, teasing fans with the caption, “Something banger is coming soon! Thoda tadapna toh banta haina… Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video in cinemas on 11th October.”
Produced by Gulshan Kumar, T-Series, Balaji Telefilms, Wakaoo Films, and Kathavachak Films, the film faces competition from Alia Bhatt’s Jigra at the box office. However, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video remains a contender, with audiences appreciating its lighthearted and nostalgic plot.
