Venkat Prabhu’s highly anticipated film, The Greatest of All Time (The GOAT), starring Vijay, continues to perform strongly at the box office. Released on September 5, the film has amassed an impressive ₹413 crore globally in just 13 days, according to the film’s producer, Archana Kalpathi of AGS Cinemas.
Kalpathi shared the milestone on X (formerly Twitter), posting a new poster of Vijay showcasing him in dual roles. The poster highlights the film’s worldwide gross, affirming its robust performance. “The GOAT Verithanamana Run at the BO,” Kalpathi wrote, celebrating the film’s success.
Despite its strong financial performance, The GOAT has received mixed reviews from both critics and audiences. Vijay, known for his dynamic roles, takes on dual characters in this film: a father and son. The storyline follows Gandhi, the head of the Special Anti-Terrorism Squad (SATS), who embarks on a mission to Bangkok with his family. The mission takes a turn for the worse when his son is kidnapped, leading to dramatic and chaotic events.
The film features a musical score by Yuvan Shankar Raja and stars an ensemble cast including Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Mohan, Ajmal Ameer, Jayaram, Sneha, Laila, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Vaibhav, Yogi Babu, Premgi Amaren, Yugendran, and VTV Ganesh. It has been released in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.
While Vijay’s fans were concerned that The GOAT might be his final film, the actor has assured them of his continued presence in cinema. Vijay, who recently formed his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, has already committed to one more project. His 69th film, produced by KVN Productions and directed by H Vinoth, is set to feature him as the ‘torchbearer of democracy,’ with Anirudh Ravichander composing the music.
