Bollywood stars Taapsee Pannu and Vikrant Massey are set to reunite in the sequel to their 2021 hit OTT film, “Haseen Dillruba.” The highly anticipated sequel, titled “Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba,” now has a release date. On Monday morning, Netflix India announced that the film will premiere on August 9.
The official Netflix page shared a new poster of the film with the caption: “9 August ki Hasseen shaam, Dillruba ke naam. Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba, is out on 9 August, only on Netflix.” In February, Netflix India had already teased fans with a short teaser of the film, which provided a glimpse of the main characters.
In the teaser, Taapsee Pannu, draped in a stunning blue saree, reprises her role as Rani, while Vikrant Massey returns as Rishu, making a dramatic entrance with a prosthetic hand. The brief teaser also introduced new characters played by Sunny Kaushal and Jimmy Shergill. Scenes of an encounter in the rain, a boat ride, and a thrilling chase sequence promised an engaging storyline that will keep the audience hooked.
The teaser’s caption hinted at the continuation of the intense and passionate narrative: “Rishu aur Rani ki kahaani me pyaar aur pagalpan, dono abhi baaki hain (in the story of Rani and Rishu, love and madness, both are still left). Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba is coming soon, only on Netflix.”
The prequel, “Haseen Dillruba,” followed the tumultuous story of Rani and Rishu, whose lives were thrown into chaos when Rani fell for Rishu’s cousin, played by Harshvardhan Rane. The sequel promises to delve deeper into their complex relationship and bring more drama and suspense to the screen.
