
In a shocking development, Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan, 54, was stabbed multiple times during an attempted robbery at his 12th-floor residence in Mumbai’s Bandra area early Thursday morning. The actor is currently undergoing treatment, and doctors have reported that he is recovering from his injuries.
The suspect, identified as Aakash Kailash Kannojia, 31, was apprehended by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) at Durg railway station in Chhattisgarh on Thursday afternoon. Officials confirmed that Kannojia was traveling aboard the Jnaneshwari Express (Train No. 12101), which operates between Mumbai Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) and Kolkata Shalimar.
Swift Action by Authorities
The Mumbai Police alerted the RPF at around 12:30 PM, providing critical details about the suspect, including his mobile phone tower location and a photograph. Initially, efforts to locate Kannojia at Rajnandgaon station, located on the Mumbai-Howrah route before Durg, were unsuccessful.
Two teams were subsequently deployed at Durg railway station. Upon the train’s arrival, authorities successfully identified and detained Kannojia in the general class bogie located just behind the train’s engine.
Further Investigation
The suspect was taken to the RPF post in Durg for questioning. Mumbai Police officials, notified of the detention, are expected to reach Raipur by flight later in the evening before traveling to Durg to take custody of the accused.
