Sonakshi Sinha Posts Heartwarming Wedding Photos with Parents: “Missing Them a Little Extra Today”

Sonakshi Sinha Shares Emotional Wedding Photos with Parents Amid Online Trolling

Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha, known for her role in the recent hit series Dahaad, shared a heartfelt series of photos from her wedding on Instagram, capturing emotional moments with her parents, Poonam and Shatrughan Sinha. The images reveal the depth of their feelings as they faced the reality of Sonakshi moving out of the family home for the first time.

Sonakshi’s post highlighted her mother’s emotional reaction during the wedding. “At the wedding, Maa started crying when it hit her I would be moving out of the house. I told her, ‘Maa, don’t worry… Juhu to Bandra only 25 mins,’” Sonakshi wrote, adding, “Missing them a lil extra today, so I’m telling myself the exact same thing (heart emoji). Hope there’s Sunday Sindhi curry made at home… See you soon… zoom zoom zoom (laughing emojis).”

The touching photos show Sonakshi embracing her teary-eyed parents, underscoring the strong familial bonds that were both celebrated and challenged by the milestone event.

Despite the joyous occasion, Sonakshi and her husband, actor Zaheer Iqbal, have faced considerable online trolling due to their interfaith marriage. Addressing the backlash, Shatrughan Sinha recently spoke to Times Now, condemning the smear campaign targeting their family, including false reports about Sonakshi’s brother, Luv Sinha, not attending the wedding. “We were like any ordinary family with a wedding happening. Just why we became a target of so much attention, you will know better than me,” he stated.

Veteran actor Mukesh Khanna also came forward to defend the newlyweds, criticizing the trolls for labeling the marriage as ‘Love Jihad’. His remarks in an interview with Filmy Charcha emphasized the need to respect personal choices and condemn baseless accusations.

Sonakshi and Zaheer tied the knot on June 23 in an intimate ceremony attended by close family and friends from various sectors, including the film industry, media, and politics. The couple, who dated for seven years, chose to marry on the same date they started their relationship in 2017. They co-starred in the film Double XL, produced by Huma Qureshi. Zaheer, the son of businessman Iqbal Ratansi, a childhood friend of Salman Khan, was introduced to Sonakshi by Salman at a party.
