Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has confirmed that his much-anticipated collaboration with director Atlee has been delayed due to budget constraints. However, he surprised fans by announcing a new high-octane action film alongside veteran actor Sanjay Dutt.
Salman Khan on His Upcoming Films
Currently gearing up for the release of his next film Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss, Salman met with media personnel in Mumbai on Wednesday. During the interaction, the 59-year-old actor addressed rumors regarding his film with Atlee, who made his Bollywood debut with Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan.
“He has written a very big-budget action film. The film with Atlee is delayed; the budget is an issue for the film. I don’t know who from the two (Rajinikanth sir or Kamal Haasan sir) will be in it,” Salman revealed.
While discussing his role in Sikandar and its action sequences, the actor dropped a major update on his next venture, stating, “I’m doing another big action film after Sikandar. The action in this one is on another level. It’s rustic action.” When asked for more details, Salman confirmed, “I’m doing it with my elder brother in the industry… Sanjay Dutt.” However, he noted that the film’s director and producer are yet to be finalized.
Collaboration With Sooraj Barjatya
Apart from action-packed films, Salman also confirmed that his long-awaited reunion with director Sooraj Barjatya is on the cards but will take place only after Barjatya completes his current project starring Ayushmann Khurrana, set for a 2026 release.
Excitement for Sikandar
Salman urged audiences to celebrate Eid by heading to theatres for Sikandar and other big releases. “I am hoping people get good bonuses on Eid so that they can watch Sikandar, Mohanlal sir’s L2: Empuraan, and also Sunny Deol’s new film Jaat. Three big stars are coming with big films, and I hope all work,” he said.
Sikandar features an ensemble cast including Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, and Sharman Joshi. The film is set for a grand theatrical release on May 30, coinciding with Eid.
