Director Rohit Shetty has officially wrapped up shooting for the highly anticipated film Singham Again, the third installment in the successful Singham franchise. Shetty took to social media on Monday to share behind-the-scenes photos and videos from the final day of filming, reflecting on the remarkable journey that began over a decade ago.
In his post, Shetty reminisced about the inception of the Singham franchise, which first graced the big screen 13 years ago. “Today we complete 13 years of Singham and look at the magic of destiny. Today we also wrap Singham Again with Ajay sir. This is my 13th film with him as a director but the journey began back in the 90s when I was working under him. 33 years later and we are still going strong,” Shetty wrote, expressing his deep appreciation for his long-time collaborator, Ajay Devgn.
The Singham series, known for its action-packed sequences and compelling storytelling, launched Shetty’s ambitious cop universe, which also includes characters played by Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh in Sooryavanshi and Simmba. Ajay Devgn has been the face of the franchise, reprising his role as the titular character in Singham Again.
The new film will see Devgn return to his iconic role alongside an impressive ensemble cast, including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor, and Deepika Padukone. Originally scheduled for release on Independence Day, the film’s release date has been postponed to Diwali, as announced by the makers via social media.
Rohit Shetty’s association with Ajay Devgn dates back to the actor’s debut film Phool Aur Kaante, where Shetty worked as an assistant director. Their professional relationship has flourished over the years, with Shetty directing Ajay in several successful films, including Suhaag, Haqeeqat, Zulmi, Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha, and Hindustan Ki Kasam. Shetty’s directorial debut with Zameen in 2003 also featured Devgn in a leading role, solidifying their long-standing partnership.
The release of Singham Again is eagerly awaited by fans of the franchise and promises to continue the legacy of its predecessors with Shetty’s trademark action and Devgn’s dynamic performance. As Shetty and Devgn celebrate their enduring collaboration, they look forward to bringing another thrilling chapter to the big screen this Diwali.
