Randeep Hooda’s directorial venture, “Swatantra Veer Savarkar,” experienced a decline in box office collections on its fifth day of release. The film, which stars Randeep Hooda and Ankita Lokhande, had been performing well initially but witnessed a drop in earnings, garnering just ₹1 crore on its first Tuesday in India.
According to reports from Sacnilk.com, “Swatantra Veer Savarkar” earned ₹1.05 crore on its opening day (₹1.04 crore in Hindi and ₹1 lakh in Marathi), followed by ₹2.25 crore on day two, ₹2.7 crore on day three, and ₹2.15 crore on day four. The film’s earnings on its fifth day were estimated at ₹1.10 crore nett, bringing its total collection in India to ₹9.15 crore nett so far.
“Swatantra Veer Savarkar” has been directed by Randeep Hooda, who also portrays the titular role in the film. The cast includes Ankita Lokhande and Amit Sial. Released on March 22 in Hindi and Marathi, the movie is a collaboration between Zee Studios, Anand Pandit, Sandeep Singh, Randeep Hooda, and Yogesh Rahar, with co-production by Roopa Pandit, Sam Khan, Anwar Ali, and Panchali Chakraborty.
The film delves into the life of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, a prominent figure in India’s Independence struggle, and is a cinematic portrayal of his journey and contributions to the nation’s fight for freedom. Randeep Hooda, in a recent interview with news agency ANI, shared insights about the film, highlighting its focus on Savarkar’s life from 1897 to 1950 and his efforts to dispel misinformation surrounding the historical figure.
Randeep Hooda’s dedication to the role included physical transformations, as he underwent weight loss to authentically portray Savarkar’s character on screen.
