Actor Randeep Hooda recently opened up about his experience working with veteran actor Sunny Deol in their upcoming action-packed film Jaat, which is set to release on April 10. Speaking at a promotional event in Delhi alongside co-stars Sunny Deol and Vineet Kumar Singh, Hooda described Deol as a surprisingly gentle and soft-spoken person off-screen—quite the opposite of his fiery on-screen persona.
“After looking up to him for so many years, getting an opportunity to work with him was very good. He is nothing like he looks on screen,” Hooda said. “He is very easy-going and soft-spoken, but when he faces the camera, inme mata aajati hai,” he joked, suggesting Deol transforms into a powerhouse once the director calls “action.”
The Highway and Sarabjit actor also shared how Deol inspired him in his younger days. “We started making our muscles by looking at paaji. I would place a poster of him in the cupboard and started doing bench press because of him,” he recalled.
As for his role in Jaat, Hooda said this particular character did not demand extensive preparation. “All it required me was to be there, get the hair and makeup done, and remain in my attitude. So it didn’t require much preparation. But the character came out equally good,” he said, crediting the film’s director for shaping the role so well.
Vineet Kumar Singh, known for his recent performance in Chhaava, spoke about stepping into new territory in Jaat. “My role in Jaat is what I have never done before. I am doing a negative role for the first time and I hope you will like it,” he said.
