Radhika Merchant, now officially known as Radhika Ambani after her high-profile wedding to Anant Ambani, son of Mukesh and Nita Ambani, has opened up about her professional journey and future aspirations in her first interview since joining the Ambani family.
In a conversation with Entrepreneur India, Radhika shared her goals for her role as Executive Director of Domestic Marketing at Encore Healthcare, where she is determined to expand the company’s market share in India, with a particular emphasis on the southern regions. As part of her vision, she emphasized the integration of technology to improve accessibility to high-quality healthcare products across the country.
Radhika’s path to leadership at Encore has been shaped by her early career experiences within the company, which she joined as a medical representative (MR). Reflecting on her journey, she recalled advice from her first boss, who told her that excelling in sales would equip her with the skills needed to manage any role in the company. “Sales requires you to learn the ins and outs of product, finance, and distribution. It also allows you to operate at the level which is closest to your customer,” Radhika said. This philosophy of working collaboratively and constantly striving for excellence has guided her career, she added.
In addition to her own insights, Radhika’s elder sister, Anjali Merchant Majithia, also shared her vision for Encore’s future. As the Executive Director of International Markets at Encore, Anjali revealed her ambition to expand the company’s global footprint, with a goal of establishing a presence in 20 countries, positioning Encore as a leader in the international pharmaceutical market.
Radhika’s personal life has also been in the spotlight recently. Following her marriage to Anant Ambani in a grand ceremony on July 12, Radhika celebrated her 30th birthday in style at the Ambani family’s opulent residence, Antilia, in Mumbai. The birthday party was attended by close friends and family, and highlights from the celebration, including a cake-cutting ceremony, were shared on social media by influencer Orry.
During the celebration, Radhika shared a sweet moment with her husband, Anant, offering him a piece of cake, before later sharing slices with her father-in-law, Mukesh Ambani, and her own parents, Shaila and Viren Merchant. There was also a heartwarming moment when Akash Ambani, Radhika’s brother-in-law, gently reminded her to share the cake with Kokilaben Ambani and their maternal grandmother, Poornima Dalal, ensuring that everyone was part of the joyous occasion.
With her career firmly rooted in healthcare, her personal life evolving within the Ambani family, and her dedication to Encore’s growth, Radhika Ambani continues to make her mark in both the professional and personal spheres.
