The third season of Amazon Prime Video’s “Panchayat” emerged as the most watched Hindi web series across various streaming platforms for the first half of 2024, according to a report by media consulting firm Ormax Media. The beloved series led viewership charts, showcasing its strong audience engagement and popularity.
Following closely behind “Panchayat” is Netflix’s “Heeramandi,” with a substantial viewership of 20.3 million. Prime Video’s “Indian Police Force” also made a significant impact, attracting 19.5 million viewers. These figures underscore the growing competition among streaming platforms to capture the Hindi-speaking audience.
Disney+Hotstar boasts the highest number of top-watched Hindi web shows. “The Legend of Hanuman” leads the pack with 14.8 million viewers. Other popular shows include “Showtime” (12.5 million viewers), “Karmma Calling” (9.1 million viewers), “Baahubali: Crown of Blood” (8 million viewers), and “Lootere” (8 million viewers).
In the realm of unscripted content, the third season of “Bigg Boss OTT” on JioCinema claims the top spot, garnering 17.8 million viewers. Netflix’s “The Great Indian Kapil Show” follows with 14.5 million viewers, and the third season of “Shark Tank India” secures 12.5 million viewers.
Ormax Media, a reputable media consultancy firm, provides these viewership estimates through primary research conducted weekly among audiences across India. The firm’s methodology involves counting viewers who have watched at least one full episode of a show or 30 minutes of a film. To ensure accuracy, they account for multiple family members using the same account and avoid double-counting viewers who watch episodes over multiple weeks.
