Indian Idol 12 winner Pawandeep Rajan, who is currently recovering from a serious car accident, has captured hearts with a soulful video from his hospital room. Despite undergoing multiple surgeries and battling through pain, the singer posted a clip on Instagram where he is seen singing the classic track “Mera Saaya Saath Hoga” while seated on his hospital bed.
The video, which has since gone viral, shows Pawandeep wearing a wrist brace, surrounded by smiling hospital staff who appeared moved by his rendition of the timeless 1966 hit originally picturised on Sunil Dutt and Sadhana. His voice, even amid the hospital environment, carried the same emotion and melody that won him millions of fans during his Indian Idol journey.
Sharing the video with a folded hand and heart emoji, Pawandeep gave fans a glimpse into his recovery process, and the response was overwhelming. Actor Saiee M Manjrekar commented, “Wow pawan!! The Accident and Recovery Journey
Pawandeep Rajan was seriously injured in a car accident on May 5 in Amroha when the vehicle he was traveling in crashed into a parked truck near Chopla Chauraha overbridge. Along with Pawandeep, the car driver Rahul Singh and fellow passenger Ajay Mehra also sustained injuries.
Initially taken to a government hospital, Pawandeep was later shifted to Fortis Hospital in Noida due to the severity of his condition. According to the hospital’s statement, he suffered multiple limb fractures and underwent several surgeries. Fortunately, he has now been moved from the ICU to a private room and is said to be stable and recovering steadily under the care of a team of orthopaedic specialists.
