Harshvardhan Rane Gets Grand Welcome at Sanam Teri Kasam Screening, Fans Compare It to Veer Pahariya’s Theatre Visit

Harshvardhan Rane Gets Roaring Welcome in Theatre, Fans Compare It to Veer Pahariya’s Outing

Actor Harshvardhan Rane received an overwhelming response from fans during a surprise theatre visit for the re-release of his 2016 film Sanam Teri Kasam. A video of the interaction, shared by the actor on social media, captured the raw emotions and excitement of the audience. However, social media users couldn’t help but compare Rane’s electrifying reception to a similar theatre visit by Veer Pahariya during the promotion of Sky Force, which reportedly lacked the same enthusiasm.

Fans React: ‘This Is What Genuine Love for a Movie Looks Like’

A post on Reddit, titled “What Veer Pahariya thought would happen at the theatres”, sparked discussions about the stark contrast in audience reactions. While Harshvardhan was met with cheers and applause, users pointed out that Veer’s visit was met with a lukewarm response.

One user commented, “Now this is when an actual audience genuinely loves your movie. This is the level of craze that we’ve been missing in Bollywood lately.” Another added, “Veer Pahariya’s theatre visit was so embarrassing; people were just annoyed that he disturbed their experience. Maybe just two people actually stood up.”

A fan praised Sanam Teri Kasam and its music, writing, “Lovely! That’s what a movie people connect to and love does—bring in genuine fandom.” Another comment read, “This is what genuine love for a movie/actor looks like. No amount of PR can recreate this!”

Sanam Teri Kasam’s Unexpected Comeback

Originally released in 2016, Sanam Teri Kasam was a romantic drama that introduced Harshvardhan Rane and Mawra Hocane to Bollywood. Despite being made on a ₹14 crore budget, it was deemed a commercial failure, earning only ₹9.1 crore at the domestic box office.

However, the film’s re-release on February 7, 2024, has turned the tide, with collections surpassing its original run in just two days. The film has already earned ₹9.50 crore, outperforming new releases like Junaid Khan-Khushi Kapoor’s Loveyapa and Himesh Reshammiya’s Badass Ravikumar.

Harshvardhan Rane on the Film Getting a Second Chance

Speaking to Free Press Journal, Harshvardhan Rane reflected on the film’s revival, drawing inspiration from Shah Rukh Khan’s famous dialogue in Om Shanti Om:

“Agar sab thik na ho toh woh the end nahi, picture abhi baaki hai mere dost.”

He added, “I could resonate with that dialogue after nine years of trying, failing, and still trying again. It feels like a soothing ointment and justifies the dialogue Farah ma’am wrote in the film.”
