Ground Zero Box Office Collection Day 5: Emraan Hashmi's Thriller Nears ₹7 Crore Mark

Emraan Hashmi’s latest action thriller Ground Zero is steadily making its way to a strong box office performance, inching closer to the ₹7 crore mark after its fifth day in cinemas. The film, which has been receiving positive attention for its gripping storyline and historical significance, earned ₹63 lakh on Day 5, bringing its total domestic collection to ₹6.46 crore, according to reports from Sacnilk.

Ground Zero has proven to be a noteworthy release, achieving a significant milestone by becoming the first movie in 38 years to host a red-carpet premiere in Srinagar, a region that has seen its cinema halls shuttered due to unrest since 1989. The premiere was an important cultural event, marking a return to a certain normalcy in the area, and was attended by key figures from the Hindi film industry, including Emraan Hashmi.

In an interview with NDTV, Emraan Hashmi shared his excitement about the premiere in Srinagar. “It was a huge cultural event. It was quite historic. After 38 years, who would have thought a certain air of normalcy would come back in Srinagar?” said Hashmi. The actor emphasized the smooth filming experience in the region and the positive atmosphere at the event. He added, “When we went for our shoot in Srinagar, safety norms and the entire shooting went smoothly. We did not have any issues there. There were smiles on the faces of the locals, jawans, and officers. It was a moment of joy and a reminder of how the city has slowly been returning to normal.”

On its fifth day of release, Ground Zero recorded an overall Hindi occupancy rate of 11.15%. The occupancy was broken down across different time slots, with the morning shows at 5.78%, afternoon shows at 11.13%, evening shows at 11.07%, and night shows performing the best, reaching 16.61%.

The film, directed by Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar, is based on the heroic journey of BSF officer Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey. It narrates the courageous 2003 mission that led to the death of notorious terrorist Rana Tahir Nadeem, also known as Ghazi Baba. Alongside Emraan Hashmi, the film features Sai Tamhankar, Zoya Hussain, Mukesh Tiwari, Deepak Parmesh, Lalit Prabhakar, and Rockey Raina in pivotal roles.

As Ground Zero continues its box office run, it remains to be seen how the film will perform in the coming days, but its historical premiere and compelling storyline suggest it may maintain momentum in the weeks ahead.
