GOAT Box Office Collection Day 5: Vijay's Film Crosses ₹150 Crore Mark, Dips on First Monday

Vijay’s sci-fi action thriller “The Greatest Of All Time” (GOAT) has hit a major box office milestone by crossing the ₹150 crore mark in just five days. However, the film saw a drop in collections on its first Monday.

Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the film earned ₹14.1 crore on Day 5 across all languages, as per a report by Sacnilk. The majority of the earnings came from Tamil screenings, contributing ₹12.5 crore, followed by ₹1 crore from the Hindi version and ₹60 lakh from Telugu shows. This brings the total box office collection to ₹151.15 crore.

First Monday Dip and Overall Performance

GOAT, which stars Vijay as Gandhi, a former leader of an anti-terrorism squad, witnessed a drop in its Monday earnings compared to its opening weekend. The extended four-day weekend saw higher numbers, with a solid performance in non-national chains and single-screen theaters. However, the collections from national chains were reportedly lower than expected.

Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh also commented on the film’s weekend performance on X (formerly Twitter), noting, “GOAT posts a respectable total in its 4-day extended weekend, driven largely by non-national chains and single screens of mass-markets… Of course, the overall total could’ve been stronger if national chains had come on board.”

He further added, “With no major release until Devara [on 27 Sept], it’s crucial for GOAT to maintain its momentum in the days ahead, starting with this Monday.” The Hindi version of the film grossed ₹11.21 crore in its first four days, including earnings from the Tamil and Telugu versions in North India.

Venkat Prabhu’s Message to Fans

Ahead of the film’s release, director Venkat Prabhu took to social media to engage with fans. He assured them that they didn’t need to watch any previous films before seeing GOAT, playfully writing, “U guys don’t need to watch any movie before coming for The Greatest Of All Time just come and have fun!! It’s all yours!!! Let’s celebrate our Thalapathy in theatres!!”

Star-Studded Cast and Production

In addition to Vijay, GOAT features a stellar cast including Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Mohan, Yogi Babu, and Premgi Amaren in key roles. The film, which blends action and sci-fi elements, is produced by AGS Entertainment.

With no significant competition until late September, GOAT has the opportunity to continue its box office success, though maintaining momentum will be key. Fans are hopeful the film will sustain strong numbers in the coming days.
