“Badshah Trolled for Shouting ‘Free Samay Raina’ at Concert: ‘When Was He Arrested?’”

Badshah Faces Backlash for Shouting ‘Free Samay Raina’ During Concert Amid Controversy

Badshah, the popular Indian rapper and singer, recently found himself at the center of controversy after shouting “Free Samay Raina” during his live concert in Vadodara, Gujarat. The remark was made in support of comedian Samay Raina, who is embroiled in a row over controversial comments made on the show India’s Got Latent.

Samay Raina, along with YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, became a subject of intense criticism following remarks made on the show about parents and sex, which sparked outrage on social media. While several celebrities voiced their disapproval, others, including Badshah, extended their support to the duo. During his performance at Parul University, Badshah paused at the end of his set to shout, “Free Samay Raina,” which was met with cheers from the audience.

However, Badshah’s gesture quickly caught the attention of Reddit users, who reacted with mixed opinions. One Reddit user questioned the shoutout, writing, “Free Samay Raina? When was he arrested?” Another remarked, “Samay isn’t in jail; he’s in the US playing chess.” The comments reflected confusion over why Badshah would voice such support, as Samay Raina has not been arrested or detained.

Other users found the shoutout “embarrassing,” with one commenting, “You could have just said ‘I stand with Samay Raina,’ but no worries, maybe next time.” The phrase “free” seemed misplaced to many, considering that Samay was not in legal trouble but rather facing social media backlash due to the controversial remarks made on the show.

For context, Samay Raina and Ranveer Allahbadia’s remarks on India’s Got Latent led to multiple FIRs being filed against them, as well as other members of the show’s team, including popular YouTubers Ashish Chanchlani and Apoorva Mukhija. In the wake of the controversy, Samay issued a statement and deleted all episodes of India’s Got Latent from his YouTube channel. He wrote on X (formerly Twitter), expressing regret over the situation and offering to cooperate fully with authorities.

The controversy sparked debates on social media, with some fans supporting Samay and others criticizing the remarks made on the show. Despite the criticism, Badshah’s public show of support for the comedian continues to stir the conversation, as many continue to question the severity of the issue and whether Samay’s actions warrant such backing.
