Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu is making a triumphant return to work after a seven-month hiatus, during which she took time off to focus on her health. The 36-year-old star, known for her roles in Indian cinema, announced her comeback in a video shared on her Instagram Story on Saturday.
Prabhu, who wrapped up shooting for the Indian segment of the Prime Video series “Citadel” in July last year, had taken a break to prioritize her well-being. In 2022, she had publicly disclosed her diagnosis of myositis, an autoimmune condition, just before the release of her film “Yashoda.”
In her announcement, Prabhu expressed her excitement about returning to work and revealed her latest endeavor—a health podcast. “I am going back to work, finally,” she said. “But apart from that, in the meantime, I was completely jobless. But, I am doing something fun with a friend. It’s a health podcast.”
Describing the project as unexpected yet deeply fulfilling, Prabhu emphasized her passion for the subject matter. “It is quite unexpected, but it is something that I really love, and something I am extremely passionate about,” she added.
The podcast, which focuses on health-related topics, is set to launch next week. Prabhu expressed her hope that the content would be valuable to her audience. “I hope some of you find it extremely useful. I have enjoyed making this,” she said.
Prabhu’s return to work and the launch of her health podcast mark a significant milestone in her career and personal journey. Despite facing health challenges, she remains dedicated to her craft and committed to using her platform to create meaningful content.
As fans eagerly anticipate her upcoming projects and the debut of her health podcast, Prabhu’s resilience and determination serve as an inspiration to many in navigating life’s challenges with grace and optimism.
