After nearly three decades, Bollywood megastar Aamir Khan and Tamil cinema legend Rajinikanth might share the screen once again in the upcoming action-thriller Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. According to a report from India Blitz, Aamir Khan is being considered for a cameo role in the film, marking their second collaboration since the 1995 crime action-drama Aatank Hi Aatank. This potential reunion has sparked excitement among fans, though official confirmation from the actors or producers is still pending.
The Coolie project, currently being filmed in Visakhapatnam, has already generated significant buzz. Besides Rajinikanth, the film features an ensemble cast including Shruti Haasan, Upendra, Sathyaraj, Soubin Shahir, and Mahendran in pivotal roles. Rajinikanth, who is a dominant force in Tamil cinema, has also made a notable mark in Bollywood with films like Andha Kanoon, Meri Adalat, John Jani Janardhan, Geraftaar, and Hum.
Beyond Coolie, Rajinikanth is set to appear in TJ Gnanavel’s Vettaiyan, which boasts an impressive lineup of stars including Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, and Ritika Singh. This film is anticipated to be another significant addition to Rajinikanth’s illustrious career.
Aamir Khan, on the other hand, has been a consistent presence in Bollywood since his debut in Ketan Mehta’s Holi. His career is decorated with blockbuster hits and critically acclaimed performances in films such as Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, Dil, Rangeela, Lagaan, Rang De Basanti, 3 Idiots, and Dangal. His last on-screen appearance was in Laal Singh Chaddha alongside Kareena Kapoor.
Looking ahead, Aamir Khan is set to star in RS Prasanna’s sports drama Sitaare Zameen Par with Genelia Deshmukh. Additionally, he is producing Lahore 1947, a film featuring Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, and Karan Deol.
